JoAnne P. Jones passed away on July 26, 2023 in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. She was born on July 25, 1937 to Ernest L. and Florence (Richards) Pilman in Nantucket, Massachusetts. She grew up in this area, graduating from Boothbay Region High School in the class of 1955.

JoAnne married Neil Jones on Jan. 6, 1956. She was employed as a bookkeeper for many local businesses. She loved crossword puzzles, cardinals and getting together with friends for coffee.

She was predeceased by her husband, Neil, in 2002; her sister, Marjorie Desmond in 2022 and her great-grandson, Neil Robert Brewer in 2016.

She is survived by her two daughters: Michelle and her husband Michael Brewer of Waldoboro and Leslie and her husband James Meyer, of Hanover, Pennsylvania. Her surviving grandchildren include: Melissa and her husband, Raymond Robbins of Waldoboro; Jessica and her husband Mark Simpson of Waldoboro; Michael Brewer and his wife Devon of Alexander, Maine; and Christopher and his wife, Ascenza Meyer of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren: Matthew and Caitlyn Robbins of Waldoboro and Zoe Brewer of Alexander, Maine.

A graveside service will be held at Oceanview Cemetery on Friday, Aug. 4, 2023 at 2 p.m. in the Pilman Family Lot. A reception will follow at Southport Town Hall.
