Lincoln County Sheriff's Office: 1 arrest
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 218 calls for service for the period of Dec. 22 to Dec. 30. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 14,130 calls for service.
Arrest
Kenneth E. Jennings, 41, of Nobleboro was arrested Dec. 22 on two warrants, one out of Augusta District Court for Failure to Appear and one out of Sagadahoc County District Court on an Affidavit warrant, on Route 1, Newcastle, by Deputy Nathaniel Aronson.
Accidents
On Dec. 22, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Alden L. Sproul, 81, of Bristol. Mr. Sproul was operating his 2013 Volvo XC60 northbound when he experienced a medical event, causing his vehicle to go off the right side of the roadway and strike a guardrail, coming to rest against it. Deputy Nathan Yeaton was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 23, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Isaiah D. Macmillan, 49, of Newcastle. Mr. Macmillan was operating his 2016 Ford Edge northbound when a deer entered the roadway and was struck, causing damage to the front of his vehicle. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 23, an accident occurred on Bunker Hill Road in Jefferson involving Emma J. Barbato, 31, of Windsor. Ms. Barbato was operating her 2013 Honda CR-V southbound when she approached the stop sign at the intersection. Due to the road conditions, she was unable to stop and slid through the intersection, into the ditch, rolling onto its side. Sgt. Matthew Day was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 24, an accident occurred on Middle Road in Dresden involving Zachary Owen I. Pike, 34, of West Gardiner. Mr. Pike was operating his 2019 Tesla M3 southbound when he lost control and slid off the roadway on the right side. His vehicle then went down the embankment and struck a tree. At the time of the crash, the roads were covered in heavy wet snow. Sgt. Jonathan Colby was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 26, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Kristan L. Porter, 55, of Cutler and Harold W. Wall, 72, of Rockland. Mr. Porter was operating his 2022 GMC Sierra behind Mr. Wall’s 2025 Chevrolet Colorado. Both vehicles were traveling westbound on Route 1. A vehicle was stopped on Route 1, waiting for an opportunity to turn left onto Lynch Road, while another vehicle attempted to drive around the vehicle turning left but stopped due to not being able to get past. Mr. Wall slowed down to stop behind the other two vehicles and Mr. Porter stated he did not realize they were stopping and thought they were going around and did not stop in time. As a result, Mr. Porter rear ended Mr. Wall’s vehicle. Deputy Joseph Booth was the investigating officer.
