The ‘Madness’ is over
After spending three weekends, and more, watching college basketball and the NCAA tournaments (women’s tournament included), I am ready for a break, although the men’s tournament had to be one of the best I have witnessed. There were not a lot of upsets but there were a lot of close games, which was fine with me.
Although the top seeds, Florida, Duke and Arizona, in the men’s bracket didn’t make it to the championship game, the Michigan Wolverines did. I predicted they would take the crown, which they did by defeating the ever-competitive UConn Huskies, 69-63, on Monday night. I didn’t get to watch the entire game (had to work this Tuesday morning so I needed sleep), but I am looking forward to watching a rebroadcast some time. I did watch most of the first half and both teams played great defense and it was entertaining. Do you think I love watching basketball?!
When I return home today, I will go over my bracket and see how many wins and losses I have and compare it to my wife’s bracket. She has done better than I have in recent years with her predictions (she usually doesn’t predict upsets like I do) and she did not predict Michigan to win. I am hoping that this is the year that I did better than she did. I will let you know next week!
Now it’s on to baseball (and the Celtics in the playoffs). The Red Sox are not starting out well, but it is a long season and I really enjoy having them on TV because I get a lot of pleasure reading done! Nothing like a long (and sometimes boring) game to get through a book!
Have a great week!
