Midcoast's second snow much easier than the first
Much of Maine was coated in snow on Thursday night, with some northern areas reporting as much as four inches, according to the National Weather Service.
After the dumping of snow Mainers endured two weeks ago, this snow was a breeze to handle.
Boothbay Harbor got just a dusting, with roads totally clear. The same is reported in Edgecomb, Boothbay, and Southport, with slightly greater amounts of snow in Wiscasset.
Along with the snow has come colder air, with highs below 40 F and lows around 34 F during the daytime for the rest of the weekend. Nighttime temperatures will be much colder, dropping as low as 17 F on Friday night, according to the NWS, because of the clear skies.
Sunday night will bring cloudy skies and slightly warmer temperature with light snow flurries and/or rain possible, increasing in probability through Monday and Monday night.
Overnight rain could cause some black ice and freezing on roads on both Sunday and Monday nights. Caution is advised.
