Lincoln County deputies Aug. 21 continued to assist and support the NTSB and FAA with their investigation into the cause of a single engine airplane crash in Bristol. 

The deceased pilot has been identified as 54-year-old John Hall of Lee, New Hampshire. The Maine Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death. 

The lone passenger in the plane has been identified as Hall's son, 21-year-old Tyler Hall of Lee, New Hampshire. He was transported to Maine Health Lincoln Hospital – Miles Campus in Damariscotta with non-life-threatening injuries. We have no additional information on his injuries or if he is still hospitalized. 

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office will continue to support the primary investigators into this crash. 

Bristol Fire and Rescue, Central Lincoln County Ambulance, Maine Marine Patrol, Maine Department of Environmental Protection, Ocean’s Edge Marine, and Hanley Construction all assisted either at the scene or with the removal and safe storage of the plane.

Additionally, several citizens also assisted in the immediate moments after the crash to safely get both the pilot and the passenger to shore. We thank them all.
