7 ─ U.S. Army Field Band ─ Free community concert. The jazz ambassadors play at the Opera House, 86 Townsend Ave., 7 p.m. 19-member ensemble known as “America’s Big Band.” Doors open at 6:30.

14 ─ Gardens Aglow ─ The holiday lights of the season light up for another season. Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is transformed into a magical winter wonderland through Jan. 2. Open Thursday- Sunday, 4-9 p.m. Tickets, info: www.mainegardens.org

18  ─  Gingerbread House Class  ─  3 p.m. at the Opera House at Boothbay Harbor, 86 Townsend Ave. In preparation for this year’s Great Gingerbread Spectacular, discover the secrets behind designing and building a gingerbread house that will withstand the rigors of the holiday season! Upright walls, a roof that doesn’t slide off, the perfect candy adornments and more. Instructor Kevin Kiley. TBA ─ Fire Truck Parade & Decorating Contest ─  The 5th annual! Featuring decorated area and Midcoast trucks. Parade starts at Boothbay Common. Also chowder and chili contests. 

28 ─ The Clauses at Boothbay Common ─ Arriving by one of Boothbay’s finest fire trucks, Santa and Mrs. Claus will listen to the wish lists of children, 3-5 p.m. Music, hot chocolate and other treats.
