Richard E. Williams, 81, died peacefully at his residence in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, on the morning of Aug. 12, 2017.

Richard attended local schools, and was a truck driver for 50 years, “Same company – different names.” He was employed by Lewis Oil Company for 38 years, and later, Reny Construction for 20 years, retiring in 2002. He enjoyed going to Florida in the winter, and loved to travel. He especially enjoyed going anywhere for a “ride”, and had a passion for “Up North.”

He was a member of the Knights of Pythians; The Boothbay Lodge #32.

Loved antique cars and race cars, and he could be found attending many car races. He made several trips to Branson, Missouri, enjoying the Grand ole Opry.

Richard is survived by a son; Alan Williams and wife Laurie of Boothbay, Maine., daughters Sherba Sibley and her husband Jay of Edgecomb, Maine, Linda McFarland and her husband Miles of Bremen, Maine; sister; JuneEllen Brault of Edgecomb, Maine, two stepdaughters; Beth Bibber of Boothbay, Maine, and Rochelle Bowden of Topsham, Maine. Six grandchildren; Shaylee Sibley of Edgecomb, Amy Williams and fiance Justin Lewis of Boothbay, Jenna Williams of Boothbay Harbor, Matthew McFarland of Washington, Maine, Alyssa Branen of Bremen, and Caitlin Bonyun of Bangor, Maine; one great-granddaughter, two great-grandsons, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Ocean View Cemetery, Country Club Road, Boothbay.
