Rising Nashville country artist Cam Shelton Hootenanny headliner
Event Date
Thursday, September 03, 2026 - 05:30 pmA little bit of Nashville is coming to the Maine coast this September when rising country artist Cam Shelton headlines Hearty Roots’ Hootenanny: Ho-Down Southern Social at Glidden Point Oyster Farms in Edgecomb.
The family-friendly fundraiser will take place Thursday, Sept. 3, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., bringing together live country music, oysters, a Southern-style pig roast and the Midcoast community in support of Hearty Roots’ work with young people across Lincoln County.
Shelton, an Arkansas-born singer-songwriter now based outside Nashville, was recently named 2026 Acoustic Act of the Year by the Arkansas Country Music Awards. He has also opened for nationally known country artists including Riley Green and Tracy Byrd. His music draws on traditional country, Southern rock and soulful storytelling.
For Hearty Roots, the evening is about more than a night of music.
The Lincoln County nonprofit provides outdoor adventure, school-based programming, nature-based mental health services, mentorship and teen vocational pathways for young people throughout the region.
“We believe in swimming upstream — giving kids connection, belonging and meaningful relationships before they reach a crisis point,” said Haley Bezon, founder and executive director of Hearty Roots. “The Hootenanny is a chance to celebrate the young people we serve, bring our community together and have a really great night while we're at it.”
The event will take place at Glidden Point Oyster Farms, 637 River Road, Edgecomb, overlooking the Damariscotta River, creating a quintessentially Midcoast setting for an evening that combines Maine’s coastal culture with Southern music and food.
