Sandra L. Barter
Sandra L. Barter, 84, of Boothbay Harbor, passed away peacefully on Jan. 16, 2026, at St. Andrews Village.
Born on Aug. 22, 1941, in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, Sandra was the daughter of Gerald and Hazel (Clifford) Pinkham. She was raised in Boothbay Harbor and attended Boothbay Region High School through the 10th grade. Sandra spent more than 30 years devoted to her work in housekeeping, a role that reflected her quiet dedication.
In 1962, Sandra married the love of her life, Neil W. Barter, and together they built a life centered on family and simple joys. Sandra found peace and happiness outdoors—walking in the woods, gardening, enjoying scenic rides around Ocean Point, and spending time in nature. Above all else, she cherished sharing these moments with her family. Though she was a quiet soul who kept to herself, her family meant everything to her.
Sandra was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Neil W. Barter, and by her son-in-law, Lawrence R. Bennett.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Tammy Barter of Friendship; her son, Mark Barter of Boothbay; her daughter, Brenda Bennett of Boothbay Harbor; her daughter and son-in-law, Tracey and Troy Osgood of Bristol; as well as many sisters, brothers, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly.
A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Boothbay, with arrangements to be announced in the spring.
Arrangements are under the care of Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Services. To share a memory or condolence with the Barter family, visit www.hallfuneralhomes.com.
