Santa Claus to kick off holiday programming
Lincoln Theater is pleased to be part of the annual Villages of Light festival, bringing Santa Claus to town along with a free holiday film for this special celebration Saturday, Nov. 29 beginning at 11 a.m.
This free family event, presented in partnership with the Damariscotta Region Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by MaineHealth, begins with Santa’s arrival at the theater, where guests of all ages will have the chance to share their holiday wishes and snap a photo or two.
Following Santa’s visit, there will be a free screening of the holiday classic "The Polar Express," at noon. The beloved film tells the story of a young boy who, growing doubtful of Santa’s existence, finds a magical train waiting outside his window on Christmas Eve. Accepting the conductor’s invitation, he embarks on an unforgettable journey to the North Pole, discovering the true spirit of Christmas along the way. Then families can head over to Skidompha Library for more festive activities before the Villages of Light parade!
Lincoln Theater will continue to present holiday programming throughout December with more seasonal favorites. On Friday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m., bring the family to sing along with Big Crosby in the beloved 1954 classic “White Christmas”—with lyrics on screen! We’ll be following it up with the classic comedy, "A Christmas Story" (PG, 1983), playing Friday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m.
The Lincoln County Community Theater’s production of “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" brings live holiday programming to audiences. Jesus said, “suffer the little children,” but had he ever met the Herdmans? This holiday comedy, featuring 31 community members of all ages, will be presented live on-stage Friday, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 20 at 7 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 21 at 2 p.m. “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” tickets are $10 and 50% of all sales are being donated to the Ecumenical Food Pantry, serving residents of Damariscotta, Newcastle, Nobleboro, and the larger community. Tickets are on sale now at www.LincolnTheater.org.
Spend the holidays with Lincoln Theater, located at 2 Theater St. in the heart of downtown Damariscotta. More information on all upcoming programming is available online www.LincolnTheater.org or contact the theater office at info@lincolntheater.org or 563-3424. Holiday curtain going up!
