Carl A. Segerstrom, recently of Wiscasset, has successfully completed the United States Naval Officer Candidate School at Naval Station Newport, Rhode Island.

In November, he was commissioned an Ensign-in-training to become a Surface Warfare Officer. Ensign Segerstrom has been assigned to the USS McFaul, an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer berthed at Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia.

Prior to his commissioning, he graduated from Southern New Hampshire University in Brunswick with a bachelor’s degree while working at Sewall Auto Parts in Boothbay Harbor. More recently, he worked at Car Quest Auto Parts in Brunswick. He is an active member of the Bible Baptist Church in Wiscasset.

Ensign Segerstrom, his wife Kasandra and their two children have relocated to Virginia.

Carl is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter J. Segerstrom of Winchester, Massachusetts, and Boothbay Harbor and Kasandra is the daughter of Ms. Nancy Vogt of Monhegan.
