Snowmobile season underway
With the past snowstorm, many are turning their thoughts toward winter activity.
The Wiscasset Sno-Goers have already begun their season.
Road crossing signs are appearing to alert motorists of the snowmobiles. Trail work is also on going. Bridges need to be repaired or rebuilt and trails need to be cleared.
The club meets the second and fourth Thursday nights at their club house on Recycle Way near the Recycle Center. Meetings begin at 7 p.m.
A potluck supper is held on the second Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Every Sunday morning is a workday. Members gather together at the clubhouse at 8 a.m. to enjoy coffee together and prepare for the day's activities. Work sessions are open to all members.
Non-members are also welcome to join in trail work to meet the members and get familiar with the trails. Trail maps are available at several places around town. A $2 donation is requested to cover the cost of printing the maps.
