State police are investigating the death of Kimberly Hill, 33, of Wiscasset. Hill died along Route 201 in The Forks early Sunday morning.

Detectives are looking into whether she may have jumped from a moving pickup truck her boyfriend, Tyler Poland of Greene, was driving. Poland, 29, called 911 just after 2 a.m. Hill had been placed in the cab of the pickup and Poland was driving south. Hill was dead when first responders met up with Poland’s truck in The Forks.

State police detectives joined Somerset County deputies Sunday morning and a section of the road was closed for a time as investigators gathered evidence from the scene.

An autopsy was done on Hill’s body Sunday at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Augusta. The truck and other evidence from the scene will be examined at the State Police Crime Lab.

The investigation is expected to last several days.
