All you ever need to know in life, you can learn in kindergarten. Or perhaps you can read the Elephant and Piggie books by author Mo Willems. Piggie and her Elephant friend, Gerald, share adventures and help each other problem solve some frustrating situations, some misunderstandings and some new concepts. Children cannot get enough of these stories and parents are often heard giggling at the reading of these books.
Two books, “I’m a Frog” and “A Big Guy Took My Ball” featuring Elephant and Piggie stories, were read at Story Time this past week at the Wiscasset Public Library.
Piggie becomes a frog and invites Elephant to join him. Elephant refuses. You’ll have to read to find out why.
In the other book, Piggie complains to his big friend Elephant that a big guy took his ball. Being of grand stature himself, Elephant decides to help his friend retrieve the ball. Again, you have to read the book to discover what happens.
Story Time is each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Children’s Room. All are welcome.
