Truck draws $10K for Alna Fire Department

Advertising a 1972 Dodge Power Wagon on Craigslist paid off for the Alna Fire Department, with a sale on the high end of what Fire Chief Mike Trask hoped the truck would fetch.
The department received 35 bids on the truck, Trask said July 24. The truck went to an East Sugarloaf business for $10,071, Trask said.
The Craigslist ad called for sealed bids. The bids were opened at the department’s July 22 business meeting.
After the bidding deadline on July 15, Trask said he hoped the truck would bring $6,000 to $10,000.
The truck was bought through fundraising under a nonprofit arm of the fire department; so the sale money will offset the cost to buy its replacement, a $10,000, 2007 Chevrolet utility truck, Trask said
