Trump by a landslide
Dear Editor:
My guess is almost none of the 77.3 million Trump voters attended a “No King” protest. Trump won the election with broad support, winning 86% of the country’s 2,676 counties, 31 states, and the popular vote. Under the rules of the “National Popular Vote Compact,” he would have been awarded 17 more states for a total of 48 losing only New Hampshire and Virginia
In October of last year, the country was on an unsustainable course and in trouble. Voters identified the economy, inflation, open borders, crime, and illegal immigration as the most important issues. In October 2024 Biden’s approval rating was at 44% with 35% of likely voters saying the country was going in the right direction.
In June of this year similar polling gave Trump a 52% approval rating with 48% agreeing the country is heading in the right direction. This is an unprecedented improvement of +8% and +13% in the eight months since he won the election. Trump is keeping his election promises and voters appreciate it. The demonstrators represented about one and a half percent of the U.S. adult population, many were likely part of the 18.6 million illegal aliens, and the remainder likely voted for Harris. Their candidate lost, they are angry, and they are protesting.
Today inflation is under control. Manufacturing and jobs are returning. Factories are being built. The border is secure. Foreign criminals and Illegal aliens are being removed, making our country safer and opening up job opportunities for people legally in the country. Fraud and waste in government programs are being targeted. The military and police are getting the respect and support they deserve. Election integrity is being addressed to improve the voter’s confidence in our elections. The U.S. has resumed its leadership position in the world. There is new hope in our country’s future and national pride is coming back. If an election were held today, it is likely Trump would win by a historic landslide.
