I’m concerned! With tongue firmly in cheek, I ask, dear reader, why so few pro-Susan Collins letters in our faithful local paper? Surely, with hundreds of millions in GOP spending here in Maine, there’s enough left over from a week of ads in the lefty Portland, Oregon papers to pay a few fence-sitters enough to gas up their vehicles.

And where are the letters from Maine’s billionaires, whom Collins has worked so hard to support Ungrateful! Where are the anti-abortion activists thanking her for delivering the final nail in Roe v. Wade’s coffin? Ungrateful!

And military families -- aren’t they thrilled with Collins’ Trump pick for Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth?

Finally, did you miss the financial analysis of Collins’ Big Beautiful Budget? As Appropriations chair, she didn’t stop the massive Medicaid cuts she knew would devastate Maine. No, she negotiated a Rural Health Transformation fund worth millions!

Savvy Lincoln County readers may have seen the recent report from the Maine Center for Economic Policy’s, The Squeeze. It concludes that fund is but a drop in the bucket compared with the billions Mainers are losing.

Perhaps Lincoln County residents are concerned after all.
