Vote for Holly Stover

Mon, 09/14/2020 - 6:00pm

    Dear Editor:

Holly Stover, running for re-election as our Representative in House District 89, is a compassionate and caring human being. She is responsive to us as constituents, but beyond that, she is a skilled legislator.

As a member of Plastic Free Peninsula, I was proud to see that Holly sponsored the bill that banned single-use plastic bags in Maine. She also joined with other legislators to put through a bill to reduce the cost of prescription drugs and supported broadband which is crucial to our stay-at-home workers in the midst of this pandemic and in the future.

On the peninsula, she has worked tirelessly for our community. I worked with Holly on the board of the Boothbay Region Community Resource Council and saw first-hand the impact she made counseling people affected by substance abuse, both those addicted and their families. In addition, she has led the way to establish Lincoln County Dental, a non-profit that serves people who cannot afford dental care, now acting as its executive director.

Having worked for the state for 23 years in health and human services, Holly knows her way around Augusta and how to get things done. She is a problem solver, and that’s what we need in this crucial moment in our state’s history. I strongly support her re-election and urge you to vote for her on Nov. 3.
