“...a thoughtful, meditative, almost trance-inducing rumination on the meaning of art and life.” - Adam Kempenaar, Filmspotting

“Ghostbusters” - (1984 – PG; 1 hour, 47 minutes) - Free community movie! -  There is probably no better treat (nor trick) with which to celebrate Halloween than a free Saturday matinee of the original ‘Ghostbusters.” Even if you’ve seen it before and have seen either or both of the later Ghostbusters films, why deny yourself the fun of seeing Dan Akroyd, Bill Murray, Rick Moranis, and Sigourney Weaver; and how about that wonderful title song from Ray Parker Jr.? Special effects may not have been as technically thrilling, but this movie has razor sharp wit and mass appeal for people of all ages. A pop-culture phenomenon and free popcorn, too? Who ya gonna call? One show only: Saturday, Oct. 29, 3 p.m. Thank you to the towns of Boothbay & Southport for their generous sponsorship of this free community movie.

“Ticket To Paradise” -  (PG-13; 1 hour, 44 minutes) -  Academy Award® winners George Clooney and Julia Roberts reunite on the big screen as exes who find themselves on a shared mission to stop their lovestruck daughter from marrying a seaweed farmer in Bali, Indonesia. As they desperately try to sabotage the wedding, the bickering duo soon find themselves rekindling old feelings that once made them happy together. From Working Title, Smokehouse Pictures and Red Om Films, Ticket to Paradise is a romantic comedy about the sweet surprise of second chances. Opens Friday, Nov. 4.

“It’s a joy to watch Julia Roberts and George Clooney fall in love. It’s an even greater joy to watch them bicker ... They’re heirs to that great screwball tradition.” - Independent (UK)
