This week at the Harbor Theater
"GOAT" - (PG; 1 hour, 40 minutes) - From Sony Pictures Animation—the studio behind Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse—comes GOAT, a fast-paced, feel-good action-comedy set in a vibrant all-animal world. The film follows Will (voiced by Michael B. Jordan), a small goat with outsized dreams who gets a once-in-a-lifetime shot to go pro in roarball—a high-intensity, full-contact, co-ed sport dominated by the biggest and fiercest animals around. Joining him are a dynamic cast of teammates and rivals, including Awkwafina, John Cena, and Octavia Spencer, who bring humor, heart, and energy to this wildly entertaining world. But earning a spot is only the beginning. With teammates who doubt him and competition that towers over him, Will is determined to prove he belongs—and maybe even change the game. Final shows: Wednesday, April 22, 2 p.m. (OCAP), Thursday, April 23, 7 p.m.
"Ghost Elephants" - (NR; 1 hour, 39 minutes) - In the mist-shrouded highlands of Angola, where myth and memory intertwine, three KhoiSan master trackers set out on a remarkable journey to find the legendary “ghost elephants” of Lisima—creatures long thought lost, yet kept alive through ancestral stories, ritual, and spiritual connection. For more than a decade, conservation biologist and National Geographic Explorer Dr. Steve Boyes has searched these remote forests for evidence of the elusive herd. Now, joined by some of the world’s most skilled trackers, he embarks on an extraordinary expedition into one of Africa’s last untouched wildernesses. From acclaimed filmmaker Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man), Ghost Elephants is both a breathtaking adventure and a deeply reflective exploration of nature, culture, and the fragile line between myth and reality. This visually stunning documentary invites audiences into a world rarely seen—where discovery is as much about listening to the past as it is about uncovering the unknown. Opening Friday, April 24, 7 p.m., Saturday, April 25, 7 p.m., Sunday, April 26, 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 29, 2 p.m. (OCAP), Thursday, April 30, 7 p.m.
“It’s a wise movie that combines spirit and science, championing the need for (and inherent beauty of) biodiversity while highlighting the genetic ties that bind the majestic elephants, the African men and the Western explorers.” – Thelma Adams, AARP Movies for Grownups
"Never on Sunday" - Lunch with a Classic selection - (1960; G; 1 hour, 31 minutes) - Join us for the final installment of Lunch with a Classic featuring the 1960 favorite Never on Sunday. Set in a sunlit Greek port, this spirited film blends romance, humor, and cultural clash as it follows Ilya, a fiercely independent woman who lives life on her own terms—until an earnest American intellectual arrives, determined to “improve” her way of life. What unfolds is a charming and often hilarious clash of perspectives, as Ilya proves that joy, freedom, and authenticity may be the greatest wisdom of all. Led by a magnetic performance from Melina Mercouri, Never on Sunday is a warm, witty celebration of individuality and living unapologetically, set against the vibrant sights and sounds of Greece. Join us for one show only on Tuesday, April 28, with a themed lunch at 12:30 p.m. followed by the film at 1 p.m. Tickets are $15 for members and $19 for non-members, with film-only admission at regular ticket prices ($8 / $12).
