Sunday, Aug. 16 at about 7:30 p.m., Wiscasset Fire Department responded to a fire at a detached garage at 243 Bradford Road in Wiscasset. Investigators with the Office of State Fire Marshal responded to determine the origin and cause of the fire. The fire caused significant damage to the garage and its contents, including several motorcycles, tools and other equipment. No injuries were reported.

Investigators determined the fire originated in an area of the garage where cordless power tools, rechargeable batteries and battery chargers were stored. Due to the extent of the damage, investigators were unable to identify a specific ignition source. The cause of the fire remains undetermined.
