Wiscasset gives protocol for tonight’s special town meeting

Second vote on parks and recreation budget after ballot error
Thu, 09/17/2020 - 1:30pm

Voting is tonight at the 6 p.m. special open town meeting at Wiscasset Community Center. An entrance table will be set up outside the building (close to or on the access driveway that goes down the right side of WCC to the rear entrances of the building) where you state your name and receive a voting placard before entering the gym or the designated outside area on the right side of the WCC building.

Chairs will be set up inside and out for the meeting. There will also be a speaker set up for those outside to hear anything said inside the gymnasium. Entry to the gym will be through the outside double doors in the front of the gymnasium, near the fitness room; there will be no entry through the front doors of the building for this meeting.

We are encouraging people to come early to get checked in and receive their placards to eliminate any waiting lines. Residents can start checking in at 5:45 p.m.

According to CDC guidelines, we are able to have up to 50 people inside using social distancing of six feet or more in the gymnasium with everyone else staying outside of the gymnasium doors; these doors will be kept open for the public to see and hear the meeting from the outside. We want to remind everyone to practice social distancing and to wear their masks when unable to keep that social distance.

We thank you for your patience as we work through this process together.
