SUSAN JOHNS/Wiscasset Newspaper "We'll work on the spacing ... Remember it's an arm length in front of you," Deb Pooler advised Wiscasset Middle High School seniors at marching practice Monday.
The Wiscasset alumna and retired technology coordinator has been substituting this school year and, for one more graduating class, was walking the seniors through their steps as she has done for so many seniors before them. Pooler motioned up to the stage where Technology Coordinator Chelsea Taylor-Smith was on a laptop, playing parts of songs for seniors to pick from for use in the 6 p.m. June 4 ceremony in Stover Auditorium. Pooler explained, Taylor-Smith will be the one guiding students through marching practices next year.
Pooler also pointed out, usually the valedictorian is asked to name some songs, but Class of 2026 Valedictorian Olivia Marshall wanted the whole class to decide.
In this week's email announcements, Principal Sarah Hubert said of graduation, "Family, Friends, Wiscasset students and staff, and community are all invited!"
