Eight local painters show work
Offering a wide range of artistic styles and subject matter, Painting Maine III continues at the Damariscotta River Grill through September 16. These eight painters remain constantly inspired by the beauty and nuances of the Maine landscape, seaward orientation, and light conditions. Their artwork is imbued with their deep emotional resonance with the area.
With new work promptly replacing sold pieces, more than 90 paintings are for sale.
Although they have painted in Maine for many years, the artists constantly find new perspectives as light and shadow shift each day and over the seasons. The artists include Betty Heselton (Gardiner and Pemaquid), Ellen Hutcheson (Boothbay), Barbara Klein (Bristol), Sally Loughridge (South Bristol), Marlene Loznicka (New Harbor), Ann Sklar (Woolwich), Abbie Williams (Damariscotta Mills) and Joyce Greenfield (New Haven, Connecticut).
Damariscotta River Grill is at 155 Main St. in Damariscotta. For more information, email Sally Loughridge at sloughridge@tidewater.net. For more information about the restaurant, go to www.damariscottarivergrill.com.
