Lincoln County Democrats meet June 26 with OUT Maine
The Lincoln County Democratic Committee (LCDC) will host Ash Northey, Program Operations and Policy Coordinator at OUT Maine at its next meeting on Thursday, June 26, at 7 p.m. Northey will be presenting on Pride Month and Issues Affecting the LGBTQ Community. The hybrid meeting will be held in person at the Newcastle Fire Station, 86 River Road, or via Zoom.
“We’re proud to host OUT Maine during Pride Month and to stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community at a time when their rights are under attack — from the Trump agenda nationally to Republican lawmakers here in Maine,” said Keith Mestrich, Chair of the Lincoln County Democratic Committee. “We’ll hear about what happened in the most recent legislative session, how the LGBTQ+ community is responding, and how we as Democrats can be allies in this fight.”
Ash has nine years of experience in community organizing and public policy spanning several states. Her robust background includes grassroots organizing, nonprofit and electoral campaign management, and state legislative staffing; all through a lens of gender, racial, and class equity. This diverse experience has deepened her commitment to ensuring that everyone has the resources and support they need to lead fulfilling, joyful lives.
All Lincoln County Democrats and unenrolled progressives are welcome to attend the meeting. LCDC voting members will automatically receive the Zoom log on information and reminders by email. Those interested in becoming a voting member must be a registered Democrat in Lincoln County and make their interest known by indicating so at the in-person meeting, on the meeting registration form at https://lincolncountydemocrats.com/meet, or by emailing info@lincolncountydemocrats.com.
Pre-registration for the meeting is required for non-voting members who want to receive Zoom log on and/or phone-in details. Register before noon the day of the meeting to ensure access. However, LCDC will do its best to accommodate last-minute registrations.
