Boothbay's Got Talent at the Boothbay YMCA kicked off the Windjammer Days Festivities, June 22 at 5 p.m. with six contestants: Oscar Mirabile (age 8, magic act), Lily Billings (age 8, singing and dancing), Agatha Harris (age 9, singing), Violet Baldwin (age 11, singing), Lydia Mitchell (age 11, hula hooping), and Kaylee Wayda (age 12, ventriloquism).
The four judges were Nick Ullo, Mary Ripley, Lisa Walby and Douglas Gimbel.
Oscar Mirabile took first place and the title of Top Royal Windjammer. Oscar attended a magic show last summer and was inspired by Justin Willman's performance to create his own magic act.
Also performing were past winners Alana Lacourse (Miss Windjammer 2019), Imij Armstead (Top Royal 2023), and Sheyenne Upham (Royal Windjammer 2024).
The event has morphed through the years to become an all inclusive event. The current title is Top Royal Windjammer and participants ages 8-14 are welcome to compete.
Past winners, the 2025 contestants and the cast of "How I Became a Pirate" will celebrate on a float in the Windjammer Parade on Wednesday, June 25 kicking off at 4 p.m.
