HVNC biathlon January 26
This is the last reminder about licensing your dogs for 2014. If you come in after January 31, a late fee of $25 is added to license fee. This is not the town's doing, it is state law. Also, Amy gets a report of every dog in town who has had its rabies done, rather you license them or you don't. We have new animal control officer this year, Jack Cheney. He takes his position very seriously, so those who don't license their dogs can expect a visit from him.
The third annual Liberal Biathlon is being held on January 26 at Hidden Valley Nature Center on Egypt Road. Teams of four and individual awards in youth and teens starts 8 to 9 a.m. The Master's division starts at 10 a.m. Best time, costume and team name awards will be given out. Hot lunches are available, area restaurants will be providing them and this will benefit the center. Hot soup or chili will be served at Hi Hut, 1/3 mile in from gate between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. On February 1, HVNC will have a Snowshoe Day sponsored by the Center and Natural Resources Council of Maine.
I know lots of kids look for their name or pictures to do with school and sports. I can read the paper and put it in a week later but that's no fun. Alna town news is where they want to see it.
I made a mistake: Louise Baird is at Cove’s Edge, not MMC. Please send get well wishes there and sorry for the mix up.
