St. Giles' Episcopal Church on Route 126 in Jefferson will host a new series of free suppers for Midcoast residents, beginning Saturday, Dec. 13 at 5 p.m.
With many families facing the reality of winter and the challenge of finding funds for fuel and food, St. Giles' response is to offer free suppers one Saturday per month, December through March. The dates after the December event are Jan. 10, Feb. 14 and March 14, with the suppers all starting at 5 p.m.
All are invited for simple, hearty fare that will be served in the parish hall. No reservations are needed. The December menu will feature shepherd's pie, plus side dishes and a beverage. If you could use a hot meal, consider yourself invited and please let others in the community know of these suppers.
St. Giles is located on Route 126, the Gardiner Road, one-quarter mile west of the intersection of 126 and Route 213, the Bunker Hill Road.
