The town of Wiscasset’s Ordinance Review Committee and Town Planner Jamel Torres plan to discuss a proposed Historic Preservation Ordinance on Jan. 26 at 5 p.m. at the Wiscasset Town Office Meeting Room, 51 Bath Road, Wiscasset.

The purpose of this ordinance is to provide a framework within which the residents of the town of Wiscasset can protect the historic, architectural and cultural heritage of significant areas, buildings, structures and landmarks and sites in the town while accepting compatible new construction.

The intent of this ordinance is to assist property owners in maintaining the architectural integrity of historic resources within the town.

The public is encouraged to attend and share their ideas for the proposed ordinance.
