The Damariscotta River Association (DRA) has announced that registration is now open for its February Nature Day Camp “Wildlife in Winter.” This camp will give children opportunities to explore, learn and enjoy the outdoors with the guidance of a naturalist and it will focus on wildlife in winter.
The February Vacation “Wildlife in Winter” session is scheduled for Feb. 16-20 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day. The kids will hike for animal tracks and signs with a naturalist, go dog sledding, create art projects, play nature-inspired games and much more. Pre-registration is required by Feb. 9. The fee is $220 or $195 for DRA members.
The February camp is open to children ages 5 to 10. Participants should bring two snacks and a lunch each day and come prepared to be outside for most of the day. Contact the DRA to register. A health form will be required for all participants. Gift certificates for this camp and DRA summer nature Camp Mummichog are available from the DRA. Limited scholarships are available.
