On Thursday morning, Feb. 5, on top of all the other frustrations due to one snowstorm after another during the past two weeks, a Boothbay Harbor Public Works vehicle broke down on the intersection of Townsend Ave. and Union Street. The Feb. 5 snowstorm dumped a heavier, wetter snow on the Midcoast region than storms’ past.

Reports of cars sliding off the roads were numerous during the morning’s commute.

Central Maine Power reports that the power outages were relatively few in number, with Edgecomb being hardest hit in Lincoln County as of 9:30 a.m. As of 4 p.m., the outages were all but gone, with just a mere two customers without power in Oxford and Cumberland counties.
