Feb. 5 storm brings heavier, wetter snow to Lincoln County

The Feb. 5 snowstorm dumped a heavier, wetter snow on the Midcoast region than storms’ past.
Reports of cars sliding off the roads were numerous during the morning’s commute.
Central Maine Power reports that the power outages were relatively few in number, with Edgecomb being hardest hit in Lincoln County as of 9:30 a.m. As of 4 p.m., the outages were all but gone, with just a mere two customers without power in Oxford and Cumberland counties.

- Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 0. Wind chill values as low as -15. Blustery, with a northwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

- Friday Night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 10. Wind chill values as low as -5. West wind 10 to 15 mph.
- Saturday: A 30 percent chance of snow showers after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 26. Wind chill values as low as -3. West wind 5 to 10 mph.
- Saturday Night: A chance of snow showers before 8pm, then a chance of snow showers after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 9. Light and variable wind becoming north 5 to 10 mph in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
