Boothbay resident has bridge named after her
The Maine Department of Transportation is pleased to rename bridge #6472 in Bremen as the Kitty Breskin-Muscongus Bridge.
Breskin, who lives in Boothbay, played an integral part in the design and construction of this bridge.
She has been a dedicated, hardworking innovator on various projects throughout her 19 years with the department. It is in part because of Breskin’s efforts, roundabouts have become accepted throughout the state, ensuring safer travel for motorists.
She has also led efforts to keep the public safe from rock falls and slides with her design efforts on rock anchoring and the soil nail launcher that helped achieve crucial work in difficult situations.
“Kitty’s service has been outstanding as she led her peers in innovative engineering solutions,” said MaineDOT Chief Engineer Joyce Taylor. “We are all indebted to her as she set an important example for others through her hard work and dedication.”
The Kitty Breskin-Muscongus Bridge is located on Waldoboro Road in Bremen.
