Storm brings snow, no outages to Lincoln County
The National Weather Service in Gray is reporting heavy snow moving through central Maine this morning.
NWS predicts snow will continue to fall at a rate of 1-3 inches per hour throughout the morning, building to between 4-8 inches total.
A few additional inches may accumulate in the afternoon.
“A winter storm warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring,” NWS states in its 8 a.m. report. “Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous.”
The NWS advises traveling only in an emergency. With reports of multiple slide-offs and accidents, drivers are reminded to take it slow and avoid driving if possible.
