100+ Women Who Care awards Stepping Stones Housing with first-ever ‘Impact Donation’
Nearly 120 local women gathered at Wanderwood in early October to support and celebrate the impactful work of local non-profits. After a social hour at the event, the names of three member-nominated area non-profits were drawn. Members heard details about the work being accomplished at Stepping Stones, Coastal Kids Preschool and Boothbay Regional Resource Council. After, the audience voted for Stepping Stones to receive the “Impact Donation” from 100+ Women Who Care, Lincoln County. As of Oct. 27, this donation totaled $14,889. Marilee Harris of Stepping Stones said of the gift, “We are so excited to know that there are so many women in our area that are giving and caring. We have been helping people with low income actually be able to afford a place to live, and this money will go a long way to assist us in doing that.”
While membership continues to increase throughout the remainder of 2025, the impact donation also increases. These additional funds will go to support Stepping Stones, and the leadership team of 100+ Women Who Care, Lincoln County is working toward a way to provide some funding to both Coastal Kids Preschool and Boothbay Regional Resource Council. With nearly 250 women enrolled, the local chapter is indeed making an impact.
For those interested in participating, membership forms and nomination forms are available on the organization’s website at womenwhocarelincolncountymaine.org. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bigelow Laboratory in Boothbay where attendees can expect light bites, warm drinks and inspiring company. The organization hopes you’ll join 100+ Women Who Care Lincoln County for vibrant and diverse gatherings that prove there’s strength in numbers. Because together we are a wave of change.
