51st annual Fall Foliage Festival Oct. 6-8

Tue, 10/02/2018 - 11:00am

The Boothbay Railway Village, along with the Boothbay Information Center, will once again showcase the artistic talents and creative spirit of Maine at the 51st annual Fall Foliage Festival Oct. 6-8. The Railway Village grounds will bustle as dozens of artists and makers of fine art, crafts and homemade items take center stage on the Village Green surrounded by the historic buildings and structures of the Boothbay Railway Village.

Fabulous food, artisan demonstrations, live music and a children’s corner (Saturday only) sponsored by the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library and the Boothbay Sea & Science Center add to the fun of this family tradition. Rides on the narrow gauge steam train and the opportunity for guests to explore exhibits detailing Maine’s railroad heritage, interpreting village life, and displaying more than 60 antique automobiles set this event apart.

Festival hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday and Monday.

Admission is $4. Children 12 and under and Museum Members are free. Steam train tickets are an additional $5 each (free for Museum members.) Parking is free both in the Museum’s main parking lots and the special event parking lot across Route 27 next to T & D Variety. Contact Boothbay Railway Village for more information at 633-4727, or online at https://railwayvillage.org.

Boothbay Railway Village is located at 586 Wiscasset Road, Route 27 in Boothbay.

Fall Foliage Festival is just one stop along Maine’s Pumpkin Trail, a partnership celebrating history, art and giant fruit along 40 miles of what we think is Maine’s most beautiful coastline. While in the region be sure to check out the Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta which takes place on the same weekend just 15 minutes away. Other stops on Maine’s Pumpkin Trail include Freeport and Maine Maritime Museum in Bath.
