'Springtime and Ukuleles' concert May 8
Songs chosen for this program depict aspects of life that can make people happy: dancing, peaceful places, love, affection, family, friendship, nature, food, and making music. Most are songs that many people know, but some will be new.
The library formed the Strummers in the fall of 2017, and the group has met weekly since then. Anyone who plays the ukulele is welcome to join. Practices take place at the library on Thursdays from 3 to 5 p.m. and are open to the public. The library has ukuleles that patrons may borrow with a library card.
Skidompha Public Library is located at 184 Main St. in downtown Damariscotta. For more information about the concert, the Strummers, or the library, phone the library at 207-887-0919 or send an email to info@skidompha.org.
