Annual holiday card contest call for artists, photographers
In celebration of its 90th anniversary, Pine Tree Society is officially inviting artists and, for the first time in the contest’s history- photographers - to submit Maine-themed artwork for its 2026 holiday card fundraiser.
Since 1969, Pine Tree Society holiday cards have become an annual Maine tradition. Each year, thousands of supporters purchase these unique cards featuring original works by local talent. As one of the organization’s most vital fundraisers, all proceeds directly support programs that help Maine children and adults with disabilities lead active, socially connected lives.
“Our 90th anniversary is the perfect milestone to introduce photography to this long-standing tradition,” said Adria King, Chief Development Officer. “We are excited to see how artists and photographers capture the spirit of Maine to help us celebrate nearly a century of service.”
Pine Tree Society will select four winning entries to be featured on the 2026 holiday card collection. Here are the categories:
Category 1: Painting – Coastal Maine holiday theme (e.g., lighthouses, coastal scenes).
Category 2: Painting – General Maine holiday theme (e.g., winter landscapes, outdoor scenes).
Category 3: Client Art – Holiday-themed painting or photography by a Pine Tree Camp camper or Pine Tree Society client.
NEW Category 4: Photography – Maine holiday theme (open to both amateur and professional photographers).
The deadline for all submissions is Friday, May 29. The Competition Criteria can be found at this link: https://pinetreesociety.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/2026-Holiday-Card-Competition-Criteria.pdf
