Six saxophonists’ stupendous songs–anyone who can say that 10 times fast is clearly a fan of the Moanin’ Frogs, who will be wowing their audience when they play the Opera House at Boothbay Harbor on Thursday, Aug. 13 at 7:30 p.m.

The Moanin' Frogs saxophone sextet is a high-energy, lighthearted take on traditional chamber music, with an amphibious blend of classical, jazz, pop, and singing. From flawless arias to choreography and a unicycle, The Moanin’ Frogs are distinguished by the impressive virtuosity of their classical saxophone training and their focus on fun and audience connection.

Listeners of all ages and backgrounds can expect to laugh, cheer, and maybe shed a tear as they experience a new and exciting take on chamber music that’s equal parts skill and entertainment.

Band members include Edward Goodman, soprano saxophone; Gabriel Piqué, alto saxophone; Jeff Siegfried, tenor saxophone; Jonathan Hulting-Cohen, tenor and sopranino saxophones; Jeffrey Leung, baritone saxophone; and Lucas Hopkins, bass saxophone.

Hopkins says, “We will showcase music from a wide variety of styles, from classical and jazz to popular music and more. Audiences should expect to be thoroughly entertained and blown away by what the saxophone can do. We have a lot of fun performing, and audience members always tell us how much fun they had!”
