Constance G. Rice, 77, of Boothbay Harbor passed away peacefully at her home on the morning of June 22, 2026.

Connie was born on May 11, 1949 in Damariscotta, Maine. She was the daughter of the late Dorothy Weed and George Nickerson.

Connie was the youngest of eight and grew up in Edgecomb. She attended local schools with her many siblings. She loved softball and reading was one of her favorite pastimes. Connie later married the love of her life, the late Louis Rice Sr. of Boothbay Harbor.

She worked at local establishments in Boothbay Harbor where she made many long-lasting friendships. She was an avid reader and loved being with her friends and family.

Connie was predeceased by her father George and her mother Dorothy; her brother George Nickerson; and her brother Robert Thurber.

She is survived by her children, son Louis Allen Rice Jr. of Virginia; daughter Shana York and her partner Rick Genthner of Nobleboro; grandchildren Stephen Reed, Kyle Arsenault, Nick Morton and his partner Lindsey Pacifico, Madison York, Gabby Genthner and her partner Kaden Bonin; and one great-grandson Carter Morton.

She is also survived by her sister Dorothy Emery (late husband Bert Emery); sister Brenda Pitcher and her husband John O. Pitcher; sister Ethel and her husband George Brewer; sister Marion and her husband John Karns; brother Paul and his wife Sue Nickerson; and many loved nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at a future date for family and friends.
