Bead jewelry sale
A BeadforLife bead party will be held at Fisherman’s Wharf Inn on Friday, Aug. 31, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. to raise awareness and funding for impoverished people living in Uganda. Beautiful bead jewelry made from recycled paper, and shea butter products, all made in Uganda will be available for purchase.
BeadforLife is a nonprofit and member of the Fair Trade Federation that works to eradicate extreme poverty by creating bridges of understanding between impoverished Africans and concerned world citizens. Ugandan women turn colorful recycled paper into beautiful beads. Women in Northern Uganda gather shea nuts and press them into shea butter for cosmetics and soaps.

Be inspired by the energy, struggle, hard work and hope of these amazing Ugandan women who are lifting themselves out of poverty.
