Benefit basketry classes weave success
"No room! No room! No room! Move down" as the Mad Hatter and March Hare would say, or, in Wiscasset Feed Our Scholars’ case, "Move up" to St. Philip’s Church’s Lippiat Hall, 12 Hodge St., on Saturday, March 28, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. for Maré LeMay of Mindful Garden’s two-hour basket making workshops.
The classes' sizes have outgrown LeMay’s shop at 65 Middle St., and St. Philip’s graciously is willing to accommodate the worthy fundraising activity supporting the weekend bag of food program at Wiscasset Elementary School, as well as its Set For Success school supply event on Sunday, Aug. 16, when all children attending Wiscasset schools, Pre-K to grade 12, have the opportunity to pick up teacher-recommended supplies for the start of the new school year.
The two classes are fully subscribed, but people interested in being put on the waiting list are encouraged to contact Feed Our Scholars through its facebook page at www.facebook.com/wiscassetfeedourscholars, email at FeedOurScholars@gmail.com, or call St. Philip’s Church at 882-7184, leaving your name and a return phone number. A Feed Our Scholars person will return your inquiry.
To find out more about Maré LeMay and the workshops she has scheduled, go to mindfulgardensmaine@gmail.com or reach her by phone/text at 207.350.2474.
Those attending either of the Feed Our Scholars Saturday workshops should park in the St. Philip’s lot across from the Church or along Hodge Street as the Church’s Bargain Basement Thrift Store is also open on Saturday and the Church is busy preparing for Holy Week activities necessitating the use of the drive.
