Boothbay/Wiscasset boys' track and field team place 2nd at MVC meet
In the final regular season meet, Boothbay/Wiscasset's boys' team scored 158.5 points and finished second to Mountain Valley, who tallied 162. Lisbon/Oak Hill finished third with 72.50 on May 19 in Rumford.
Boothbay/Wiscasset athletes who won individual events were Isaac Fanslau, 200M; Ethan Clark, 800M; AJ Crocker, 1600M; Logan Bourne won shot put and discus; and Ross Gaffney won the 1600m race walk. The 4X100M and 4X800M relay teams were also victorious.
In the 100M dash, Fanslau finished fourth with a 12.28 second mark. Teammate Aron Geddes finished sixth with a 12.75. Mountain Valley's Ryder Harding won with an 11.94. In the 200M, Fanslau won with a 24.82 second mark. Geddes finished fourth with a 27.52 and teammate KK Bragdon finished sixth with a 30.77.
In the 800M, Clark won with a two-minute, 15.6 second mark. In the 1600M, Crocker won with a five-minute, 5.72 second mark. In the 3200M, Boothbay/Wiscasset's Gaffney and Nathan Percival finished second and third. Gaffney ran a 13-minute, 52.4 second time. Percival ran a 14:54.1. Madison's Craig Paine won with a 10:57.7.
In the 300M hurdles, Boothbay/Wiscasset's John Cooper finished sixth with a 54.51 second time. Mountain Valley's Logan Crews won with a 44.53. The 4X100M relay team won with a three-minute, 54 second time. The 4X800M relay team won with a 10-minute, 15.26 second mark.
In the long jump, Geddes finished fifth with a 16-foot, nine-inch mark. Mountain Valley's Diquari Thompson won with a 19-01.25. In the high jump, Boothbay/Wiscasset's Chase Licursi tied for sixth with a five-foot, four-inch mark. Mountain Valley's Landon Canwell won with a 5-10.
In shot put, Bourne won with a 38-foot, seven-inch throw. Boothbay/Wiscasset's Casey Phelps finished second with a 36-01. Teammates Ben Gapski finished fourth with a 32-11, and Kolton Campbell finished sixth with a 31-07. In discus, Bourne won his second event with a 104-foot, four-inch mark. Teammates finished in second, third and sixth places. Lysander Lefevre recorded a 91-02. Bragdon recorded a 87-03. Gapski's mark was 82 feet.
In the javelin, Gapski finished fourth with a 117-foot, 11-inch throw. Spruce Mountain's Jonathan Hines won with a 138-03. In the 1600M race walk, Gaffney finished first with an eight-minute, 50.28 second time. Percival finished second with a 8:54.05.
The State Class C meet is scheduled for either June 5 or 6.
