Bridge people
Dear Editor:
With demonstrators on bridges and overpasses waving their now fading Ukrainian flags and “No Kings” signs, it is time to consider what Trump has done for them and for all Americans.
I have observed 13 administrations, and have seen a creeping partnership between the government, industries, lending institutions, banks, etc. These partnerships are making victims of working-class families and destroying the American Dream. Eisenhower, a Republican, raised the alarm in 1961. Today, 65 years later, we finally have an administration focused on the plight of the working middle class. Every single wage earner will see significant benefits, drug costs for many are being capped, credit card interest is capped at 10% for those trapped in the never-ending cycle of debt, there are more jobs available, and less drug overdose deaths. America is rising.
To the age-old question; What have you done for me? It depends on who you are. For the retired - it is no tax on Social Security for seniors with an AGI less than $75,000. Drug caps on several drugs adding up to thousands in savings. A $5,000 refundable credit for family members giving them care. For young families – there is no tax on tips and overtime, the Child Tax Credit has been raised to $4,000, a $5,000 Child Care Tax Credit, insurance coverage for IVF, a Trump tax-free saving account for newborns, and first-time homebuyer incentives. On the employment side -- over 680,000 private sector jobs created including 250,000 entry level jobs in energy and manufacturing, and 3.2% wage growth (due in part by preventing low skilled illegal immigration). For all Americans, inflation is down to the lowest in 4 years and prices are dropping in the supermarket. To those with retirement savings in stocks, the market is near new highs with 2025 returns of around 20%. Your loved ones are safer as drug deaths have dropped 24% to a 5-year low, helped in part by a secure border and drug strikes at sea.
It looks like a very good year for America. Are you sure you want a redo?
