Business academy selects Wiscasset student for summer program
Wiscasset High School Junior Logan Grover has been selected to attend the Summer Future Business Leaders Academy at Mercy College in Manhattan and Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.
Grover was nominated for this highly competitive program by the administration at Wiscasset High School. He was selected from high school students around the country after an application and interview process. Acceptance was based on academic record, leadership, public speaking and career interest.
To be held the week of June 17, this Mercy College program is designed for highly motivated students who have an interest in pursuing a business career.
Top New York executives, industry experts and distinguished college faculty will lead participants in hands-on experiences and networking opportunities to develop professional skills.
Speakers and session leaders may include executives from companies such as Goldman Sachs, Pepsi, Merrill Lynch, MTV, Ralph Lauren and Apple. Workshop sessions will include entrepreneurship, business strategies, marketing, and careers.
Grover will also have an opportunity to tour many of the business, cultural, and tourist highlights of New York City as part of this all- expenses-paid experience.
The son of Danny and Heidi Grover of Wiscasset, Logan is active in a wide variety of high school activities. He is captain of the soccer team, has participated in basketball, tennis, track and wrestling, the Outing Club, Band, Jazz Band and is a member of Student Council.
