Call for art contest entries
The ArtinMe Exhibition Committee has announced that Connie Hayes, the highly-regarded, award-winning artist and art educator, will be this year’s judge.
“With Connie Hayes's gracious acceptance of our invitation to judge this show, we are expecting to attract even more of the best artists in Maine to participate in this, our third year of ArtinMe. This will be a state of the art event,” ArtinMe committee co-chair Jennifer Litchfield said.
ArtinMe is a state-wide juried exhibition of fresh and selective art by today's Maine artists which show originality and skill in painting, drawing and sculpture media.
Hayes lives in Rockland, and is represented by the highly-regarded Dowling Walsh Gallery also in Rockland. She is a painter’s painter with an eye for extraordinary composition, and lavishly paints with a highly-charged palette. For 10 years, she taught at the Maine College of Art and participated in its arts administration for 15 years, which included serving as interim Dean of Faculty.
Monetary and item prizes will be awarded. Entries for ArtinMe will be accepted on October 9, from noon to 7 p.m., and on October 10, from 9 a.m. to noon. There will be a limit of three entries. Deliver art to the Boothbay Region Art Foundation at 1 Townsend Ave. in Boothbay Harbor.
