River Arts in Damariscotta invites artists to submit work for an upcoming juried show, “Artist’s Choice.” Submissions are now open through Saturday, Sept. 27 at 4 p.m.

River Arts is pleased to announce the juror will be well known artist, America Martin. Martin’s art is bold in scale and vibrant in spirit. Martin cites her Colombian heritage as a vital source of inspiration.

“Artist’s Choice” invites artists to enter their most recent work or work they feel best represents their personal style. This show is open to members and nonmembers alike; all media, including but not limited to, painting, sculpture, fiber, photography, ceramics, original print making, drawing, encaustic, pastel and mixed media. All work must be gallery ready and clean.

Wall pieces should be wired securely with picture wire and screw eyes. No wet paint will be accepted. Artists may enter two pieces with a size limit of 24 inches (in any direction) including frame or artists may enter one larger piece with a size limit of 50 inches including frame.

Entry forms are available at the gallery or may be downloaded from the website: river-artsme.org. For members the entry fee is $15 and for non-members it is $30. Artwork must be delivered in person to the gallery for submission. River Arts retains a 35% commission on sales.

“Artist’s Choice” will run from Sept. 30 through Nov. 15. An opening reception will take place on Saturday, Oct. 4 from 2 to 4 p.m. The gallery is located at 36 Elm St. in Damariscotta.
