Calling all crafters for the 61st Strawberry Festival
Things are heating up at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, 12 Hodge St., as volunteers are working on plans for the 61st Annual Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. “We are excited to be once again presenting this Wiscasset tradition,” said Beth Cowing-Sawyer, festival director. “Each year’s festival is a bit of magic when families can take part in an old-fashioned easy-going, fun day. There’s always something for everyone to enjoy.”
Local crafters’ booths displaying handmade items throughout the festival grounds, as well as in the parish hall, adds to the day’s festive atmosphere and gives patrons the opportunity for purchasing that special little something.
As in years past, a $25 fee is charged for a 10x10-foot space. Craftspeople need to supply their own tables, awning, extension cords and any other supplies needed for displaying wares.
Those interested can obtain an application form by calling the church office at 207-882-7418 and leaving a name, address and call-back number, or contact Gail Grundy, crafter chairperson, at 207-882-7955, for further information or an application form.
The Strawberry Festival is the traditional kickoff to summer activities for many people in the area and visitors to the region. Come take part in a fun day for everyone.
