Clamshell Quilters meet
Beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 14 at the Faith Baptist Church, 144 Mills Road, Newcastle, Paula Wheeler will introduce the Clamshell Quilters group to the fast and easy "Bento Box" block.
She will provide a handout with directions and will show quilters what the block looks like in quilt projects. Clamshell Quilters will be using this block to plan upcoming charity quilts.
Annual dues of $23 will be collected this month. Quilters can sign up for Adele Scott's free lecture, "My Favorite Tips, Tricks, and Products" scheduled for Friday, Oct. 23 from 5 to 6:30 p.m.; and her $35 workshop, "On the Edge," Saturday, Oct. 24, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Also, the group will discuss and vote on possible revisions to or discontinuance of the by-laws. And, finally, quilters should bring wall-hangings for an extra show 'n' tell.
Clamshell Quilters will hold its regular informal sewing before the meeting at the church starting at 2 p.m. Everyone is welcome to join in as the quilters work on charity projects or projects of their own. Sandi Schultz will demonstrate redwork embroidery stitches starting promptly at 2 p.m. Don't forget to bring your own food and beverage in case you get hungry.
Guests and new members are always welcome.
