Clarence H. Cash Jr.

Clarence “Larry” H. Cash Jr., 95, of Washington Street, Bath died March 1, 2022, at his residence.

He was born on Sept. 24, 1926, in Boston, Massachusetts, a son of Clarence H. and Lillian I. (Sweeney) Cash Sr.

After schooling in Boston and North Quincy he entered the U.S. Army, serving in World War II and then served in the National Guard. On Nov. 11, 1950, he married the love of his life, Bernice I. Carlson. After raising their children, he and Bernice moved to Maine in 1973. He was employed at Bath Iron Works, retiring in 1990 as a supervisor of ship fitting.

He was an avid boater, having a slip at New Meadows Marina since the mid-1980s. He enjoyed fishing, reading, camping, square dancing and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He thoroughly enjoyed time with his friends, a good meal and finding a bargain. He was a passionate Patriots fan from their inception and would talk to anyone and everyone about them. He was a Patriots fan way back (1959) when they were called the Boston Patriots and attended one of their first games.

He was predeceased by his wife, Bernice I. Cash on Nov. 15, 2010; one son, Kevin Cash on June 2, 2005; and five brothers and sisters.

He is survived by one son, Steven P. Cash and his wife Connie of Rye, New Hampshire; two daughters, Susan I. Sprague and her husband Kevin of Wiscasset and Cheryl Leonard and her husband Terry of Bath; six grandchildren, Joshua Roberts, Cassandra Croteau, Christine Tate, Eric Cash, Nicole Brassard and Marissa Eltzroth; ten great-grandchildren, Olivia, Leona, Riley, Lucas, Amelia, Cash, Lila, Colby, Hailey and Neely; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 19 at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High Street, Bath.
