Clarity
I appreciate clarity and simplicity.
In a world that throws information at us from all directions, it's nice to get across a point effortlessly – even if the point may be a bit abrupt.
We are inundated with precautions, side effects, instructions, warnings, and procedures, mixed with generally complicated language. Just wade through some of the literature that accompanies a new electronic device. You don’t have to be technologically challenged, like me, to go up in smoke. However, not everyone can get KDKA radio in Pittsburgh on their toaster oven – my reception improves on the higher temperature settings.
This sign isn’t a multiple choice quiz. It doesn’t say “dogs not allowed” or “dogs must be certified,” nor is it accompanied by special instructions in three languages. It doesn’t even suggest that we clean up after our dogs. The sign just clearly states, without ambiguity, “Process elsewhere.”
Even I can figure that out.
